Project Description
A comprehensive groundworks package secured by competitive tender and entailing construction of a new school building within the confines of a live school environment.
Made ground removed to the proposed oversite areas to mitigate gas protection measures. Traditional strip foundations were installed to the new building and a suspended block and beam floor installed.
A new SW attenuation tank and associated drainage was installed below and existing playground and connected to site drainage network. An offsite FW sewer connection was made under Section 50 and Section 106 licenses with the local authority.
More about the scheme
- The works were confined to an existing playground area of a live primary school, during term time. Careful consideration was given to safe segregation of the works and to minimise noise and disruption to students.
- In order to meet client environmental considerations, no diesel was utilised in the work and EJT utilised HVO Green D+ alternative fuel for all construction plant.
- EJ Taylor were awarded ‘Perfect Delivery’ by the main contactor Morgan Sindall, for our performance on this project.
